Day 23 "How we grow"

The question to consider today is what area in my life do I need to stop thinking my way and start thinking Gods way. For me the bigger question is how do I stop thinking my way and start thinking Gods way.  I am in such a habit of thinking for myself.  I need to train myself to slow down and thing about the decisions I make. Who will they affect and what would be the best outcome.  Is this the right decision to make?  I think if I just do this I will be able to start to curve my thinking.

Day 23 "How we grow"

Point to ponder: It is never too late to start growing.

Verse to remember: "Let god transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind.  Then you will be able to know the will of God-what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect." Romans 12:2

 Question to consider:  What is one area where I need to stop thinking my way and start thinking Gods way?

Day 22 "Created to Become like Christ"

This chapter is all about learning to be more Christ like.  This is an area that I struggle with.  I often cave in to peer pressure or the feeling of having a good time.  I realize I need to spend more time in the Bible reading and learning scripture.  I have weak will power when it comes to some things.  Like sweets or most comfort foods.  I crave them like a drug.  I know I do not need them and when I don't eat them I feel and look better but I just can't stop.  I enjoy reading the Bible and learning the stories of the Bible I just haven't trained myself to make it a priority in my life.  I need to make sure I leave time in what I think is an important schedule for God.  After my week in Belize I realized the work God can do when you devote everything to him.  I saw so many amazing things there both from our team and the people of Belize.  I would love to find away to have that feeling the rest of my life.

Day 22 "Created to Become like Christ"

 Point to ponder: I was created to become like Christ.

Verse to Remember: "As the spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more." 2 Corinthians 3:18

Question to Consider: In what area of my life do I need to ask for the Spirits power to be like Christ today?

Sincere Appologizes

I wanted to update this blog and let you know I am going to finish the book.  Since we have returned from our trip it has just been a world wind of emotion and busy work.  I will restart this tomorrow morning.  Thank you for you understanding.

Excuses Excuses

I am so sorry for not blogging the last couple of days.  Our trip has really come up quick and there is so much to do.  I will start posting again when I return from our trip.  I look forward to coming back with new perspective.

Day 21 "Protecting your church"

Day 21 the half way point.  As I read through this book all the things in my life are coming clear.  What my role in the world might be.  Protecting the church and be just that.  Protect your church from gossip, or clicks.  Love fellow believers.  Serve the church and the leaders of the church.  Fellowship with people in the church family and make them part of your family.  Worry about what you can do to bring the church together and not what tears it apart. What can you do to help others grow with you.  How are you involved with the members of your church.  Where do you fit int he family?  What am I personally doing to protect unity in my church family right now?  When you are involved in a church family share what you are doing with others.  You never know you may find someone that is going through the same thing.  When I am serving at church and I greet people at the door or guide them to a special function in the church I hope that it makes that person feel important and wanted.    That they are apart of the family, even if they are not believers yet.  I hope every act of kindness they witness reaffirms positive thoughts they have about Christ Followers.  How are you showing other people what it means to be a Christ follower?

Day 21 "Protecting your church"

Point to ponder: It is my responsibility to protect the unity of my church.

Verse to Remember:  "let us concentrate on the things which make for harmony and growth of our fellowship together." Romans 14:19

Question to Consider: What am I personally doing to protect unity in my church family right now?
